We’re Marilé and Dave Borden from Northborough, MA—full-time professionals, parents to two adult-ish kids, and lifelong lovers of a good party. When we host an event, we rarely settle for ordinary—we’re all about the wow factor. (Yes, we’ve even rented a dance floor for our living room!)

It was that love of over-the-top celebrations that made us take notice when out-of-state friends threw a party with a Piaggio Ape wine truck. One look at the photos and we were instantly enamored.

So, instead of sitting back and enjoying our empty nest, in September 2025 we welcomed a new addition to our house: a beautiful little Piaggio Ape tap truck. She’s cute as a button, full of personality, and has everyone—ourselves included—oohing and ahhing.

But for us, bringing The Getaway Bar to life isn’t just about the truck—it’s about the experience. We treat every celebration as if it were our own, thinking through every detail, from cocktail recipes to CO₂ tanks to candles on the shelves. And from first pour to last call, we provide seamless, attentive service so your event flows effortlessly—and your guests leave smiling. It’s all about the joy of hosting a great event.

Our name harkens back to the classic wedding tradition of a “getaway car”—that just-married moment when the celebration shifts, the crowd cheers, and the couple heads off into what’s next.

We’ve always liked that feeling. It’s relaxed, a little celebratory, and it brings people together. That’s how we think about the bar. Not just a place to grab a drink, but something that fits into the moment and helps keep it going.
