The Getaway Bar is a vintage, three-wheeled Piaggio Ape that has been converted into a full-service tap truck, providing mobile bartending services across Greater Boston and Central MA. She’s totally adorable, unbelievably adaptable—and impossible to forget. She will keep your celebration lively, your event running smoothly, and your guests talking for days to come.
How we make your party epic.
We start with a phone call to review all the details. Wedding? Corporate event? Graduation? Backyard BBQ? Brand launch? We’ll talk about all your hopes and dreams (for the event!) and how our mobile bartending service can help you achieve them. We’ll chat about beverages—beer, wine, bubbly, signature cocktails and mocktails, cold brew, lemonade. We’ll chat about decor. We’ll talk timing and logistics.
Then we get to work on the details—whether that’s choosing the perfect mixers and garnishes, adding your logo to swizzle sticks, creating themed signage and décor, or making sure we have the right length extension cords.
On the day of your event, The Getaway Bar pulls up (about 90 minutes early) in a shiny black enclosed cargo trailer. We drive her into place—inside, outside, or somewhere in between—add your alcohol to our curated mixers, and prep everything for pouring. We work with our vendors or yours to style her up, making sure every detail feels like it belongs.
When your guests arrive, we give them a moment to “ooh” and “ahh”. We’ll even help them stage the perfect photo. Then we open the taps, keep the glasses full, and make sure your party flows as smoothly as your drinks. From first pour to last call, we’ve got the bar covered—so you can actually enjoy the epic celebration you planned.
We like to say yes to (almost) everything!
We do indoor events.
At just under 5 feet wide, The Getaway Bar will fit through most double doorways! And it’s fully electric, so no need to worry about fumes.
You can choose your beverages.
You name it, we can probably tap it! Beer, wine, bubbly, cocktails, mocktails, soda, cold brew, lemonade. (Just nothing hot.)
We can't supply the alcohol.
Massachusetts liquor laws prevent us from being able to buy or sell alcohol, so just think of us as a mobile bartending service with a really cool bar.
We will provide a shopping list.
It will include recommendations and quantities, so you won’t even have to think.
You can dress her up.
We love it when our Piaggio Ape is personalized to match your brand or your vision. We work with a variety of vendors, but we’re also happy to work with yours.
We are fully insured.
We carry liquor liability and general liability.
We do need electricity.
We require access to a 110V outlet within 75 feet of the truck’s parking spot. If your location lacks electricity, let us know and we’ll see if there’s a workaround.
She can't travel to Texas.
But we do offer mobile bartending across Massachusetts, and even into parts of New Hampshire, Rhode Island and CT. See our pricing guide for travel fees.
She is driveable.
The Getaway Bar is a fully electric mobile bar and drives kind of like a golf cart with a max speed of about 15mph—so no highway driving for her!
You can't rent just the truck.
Sorry, but where she goes, we go! It’s a package deal.
We do the bartending too.
We’ll help design your signature cocktails and mocktails, pre-batch them, keg them, and serve them!
We can make your bar lines shorter.
With everything on tap, we can be pretty efficient. Use us as a solo bar—or as a supplement to a traditional bar.
We can't do a cash bar.
Unfortunately those pesky legalities prohibit us from selling alcohol in any way, shape, or form — even if it’s just to collect money on your behalf.
We are TiPS certified.
We are certified so that you can relax and ensure that your alcohol is being served responsibly.
We do all kinds of events.

Tell me again why you don't supply the alcohol?
The Getaway Bar is a “dry hire” bar. It’s not because we don’t love a good cocktail (trust us, we do). But in most states today—including Massachusetts—mobile bars and bartenders can’t get a liquor license unless they: A) Have a catering license (cooking is not our jam) or B) have a brick-and-mortar home (our little Piaggio isn’t looking to settle down anytime soon!). The upside? You avoid inflated bar markups and get to keep the leftovers. Oh, and don’t stress about the details—we’ll guide you on exactly what and how much to buy so your taps don’t run dry and your guests don’t go thirsty.
